🔸Green Fuel Breakthrough: $4.5 Million Seed Round to convert CO2 in “Green e-Methanol at Scale”
The advancement of low-carbon technologies has become a critical priority as industries seek solutions to reduce emissions and transition toward sustainability. Among the most pressing challenges is decarbonizing sectors such as aviation, shipping, and petrochemicals, which account for approximately 11% of global greenhouse gas emissions. These industries, often categorized as "hard-to-abate," present unique challenges due to their dependence on high-energy-density fuels and the limitations of current green alternatives.
One promising development in this area is the innovation of e-methanol, a green fuel derived from carbon dioxide (CO2) and renewable electricity. Traditionally, methanol production relies on fossil fuels, contributing significantly to carbon emissions. However, the potential of green methanol to serve as a versatile fuel—usable in various sectors with minimal infrastructure changes—makes it a vital component in the pursuit of global net-zero goals.
A Connecticut-based startup, Oxylus Energy, founded in 2023, is pioneering a breakthrough in the production of e-methanol. L'azienda technology directly converts captured CO2 into methanol using a proprietary electrolyzer stack, eliminating the need for green hydrogen—a critical step that reduces both
